SmartMap makes it possible to modernize the graphical interfaces of NATURAL applications. To do this, the definition and description of the display elements are extracted from the NATURAL sources and automatically transferred to an XML description. The display logic remains untouched in NATURAL because map sources and display calls are modified through a precompiler mechanism. All calls are then passed on to the PKS client. Either a thin client for the corresponding platform or any modern browser can be used as a display medium. Function keys and the dynamic modification of field attributes are also supported.
