For System z, IBM offers special licensing schemes for new workloads (zNALC) and special processors for specific workloads (zIIP, zAAP, IFL). In contrast to legacy languages, EGL lets you take advantage of these new licensing schemes. In many cases, the migration of legacy applications to EGL can therefore be coupled with a reduction in operating expenses because legacy workloads are transformed into new workloads. |
