Browser IBM RMEi Announcement:
IBM and PKS make RPG applications
available for Java
With the Rational Migration Extension for i (RMEi), IBM offers the possibility of making existing RPG apps available for Java. RMEi was developed in cooperation with PKS Software GmbH and allows the migration of existing RPG applications to IBM’s new business language, EGL. Java or i Native programs can then be directly generated from EGL. Compared to direct migration from RPG to Java, EGL is very easy to learn for RPG developers and is highly productive. Complex Java and OO know-how are no longer necessary.
